Thrifty Fitted Diapers

Newborn fitted diapers using a combination of the Rita's Rump and Anne Tuttle free online patterns modified until I liked the way they look. They were very inexpensive because I used some old flat diapers and an old flannel sheet that were given to me when I had my first daughter.

I of course had to pay for the elastic, thread and touch tape but purchased all of these on sale. I have an old sewing machine that only has straight stitch so the diapers were double stitched or turned and top stitched for durability (oh yes the sewing machine was a hand-me-down as well).

The picture is of the first three successful diapers I made. The first two are pocket diapers with touch tape closure, the only difference is the second one was top stitched around the whole diaper and not just the leg elastics.

The third one is a fitted diaper with the soaker sewn in, it is top stitched with leg and back elastic but does not have any closure, I am planning on trying this out with a snappi or pins.
