I made two of these. One with hidden PUL and a fitted. I get wing droop with the PUL but LOVE the fit of the fitted :) The shirt is all cotton, the inner is just soft cotton flannel. It is a pocket fitted. I stuff it with a prefold, hemp, or microfiber.

My first experience with a snap in soaker left me with a wet shirt (we don't use covers at home) I found with the pocket style I can stuff enough to not even need a cover :)

It is turned and top stitched with a ruffled leg.
-This is super easy- leave an extra 1/2 inch next to the seam allowance along the leg
1. When your first sewing around your inside out diaper, sew at the seam allowance when sewing along the leg.
2. Then turn and topstitch leaving 1/2 inch from the edge along the leg.
3. sew your elastic down on the inside of the top stitch and your done!

If your not opposed to microfiber inserts, you can pick up 5 packs of the microfiber car towels and any department store for a few bucks. Just strip them first to get rid of any ickies! I just trifold them.

Making a matching shirt is so easy! Just cut something fun out of the fabric you used and stitch it to a onesie or t-shirt!
